Designers now must apply their creative skills within new industries and social practices that are continuously emerging. The focus is no longer just on the solving of existing problems or the refinement of solutions — but reimagining experience and finding ways to make this tangible. Product Design at The Glasgow School of Art is a degree with a long heritage, but possessing a future focused perspective on the discipline.
Writing skills Students rely on writing skills to construct lab reports, posters, and presentation materials, take notes, and compose responses to essay questions.
Critical Thinking Skills Critical thinking skills are evident in homework, group work, project-based tasks, and presentations.
This can be seen in oral presentations and creative writing assignments, open-ended tasks, and project design. Thinks critically Students display analytical and strategic thinking. Solves problems Students assess problems involving the use of available resources personnel and materials and review multiple strategies for resolving problems could be linked to thinking creatively.
